This book is a brilliant compilation of Arthur Rackham's amazing illustrations.
Published by William Heinemann Ltd in 1960 this book covers his Beginnings, his time at Art School, Marriage and Success, his well known editions of Peter Pan and Alice, The Impace of 1914, His American Friends and then his Last Years.

There are 70 drawings throughout, many of which are tipped in plates including some of his most famous illutrations for works such as Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, Mother Goose, Aesop's Fables & Undine.

The book is ex-library with just a small stamp dated nov 1960 to the bottom of the title page.
There is some light blemishes and foxing throughout. This book has guards periodically which are part of the binding, they allow for the inclusion of the tip-ins without bowing the book.

The new binding consists of a lovely pale blue book cloth with a blue spine label shadowed by pink. Inset into the front cover, in a window style, is an Arthur Rackham print from Alice in Wonderland 'Painting the Roses Red'. It has a new pink ribbon and pale blue grey endpapers.

This is a large format book measuring approx 28x22cms and has 181 pages.
